No but why fam  
It doesn’t take long to write something as you’re favoriting an image.  
Maybe people are too busy browsing this site with one hand.

There’s a lot of tags for fur color (like blue fur), and a lot for body color as well (like blue body).
 
Anyone have thoughts on the “<x> fur” tags implying “<x> body”? I would imagine that if a character has purple fur, for example, they’d have a purple body too.

Need to get some mod views on this so it can be referred to in the future.  
 
The Character Roomi from the Neo Geo fighting game Galaxy Fight : Universal Warriors  
She’s a fictional species from a planet Lutecia. Her non-human like features includes her ears,hands,feet(paws?) and rabbit like limbs. She’s similar to Felicia from Darkstalkers who has a cat motif going for her.  
 
 

 
I’ve tagged her as humanoid for now but I need to know whether she counts as ‘furry’. Is she considered boderline?

Today, I split up various sexuality and form tags so that there is not only a way to tell who is on top of whomst (roughly speaking), but also so that there is still a single catch-all tag that covers both scenarios.
 
I split up male/intersex female into intersex female on male and male on intersex female and both imply the first tag.
 
I did the same for a few other intersex sexualities, but so many of them are so small it will be some time before they are finalized.
 
I did the same split for every form on form tag, in addition to renaming the main non-specific tag into form/form even for feral on feral and anthro on anthro.
 
I split up anthro/feral into anthro on feral and feral on anthro and of course, both imply the first tag.
 
All of these splits and additional tags are to allow users to search for or filter specific subsets of all of them instead of them all being lumped together. But there is also still a general tag for each one so people who want all or none can still use that tag. In addition, if you are unsure what extra tag to add, you can just skip it and simply add the catch-all tag and let someone else get it if they want to.
 
Please look over the descriptions and implications for all of the tags to better understand them, and ask if you are confused.

Currently the tag “flat chest” is used for females that have no breasts at all. It was brought up on Discord that flat chest is understood by some people as meaning that there are breasts present but are they are just small (small breasts ) like in “delicious flat chest”, and that the “flat chest” tag should not be used for “small breasts” no breasts at all (^{edited this part as this was a mistake}) but it should be an alias of “small breasts”. The user suggested that for females characters without any visible breasts at all there should be other tag used: “no breasts”.
 
What do you think about this issue?

Simple topic, should images with Ambient Wildlife be tagged with the species they are, or not? Some people already said no, some said yes. I want some kind of consensus set in stone so it can be added to the description of the tag. No arbitrary rules of “they shouldn’t be tagged with species no matter what” or “they should always be tagged with species no matter what” let’s find a nice solid ground. Also their form too, factor this into this whole thing too.
 
The Yes option means all of them, provided they can be made out as an animal shape.  
The No option means that they should not be tagged no matter what.  
The Variable option means a mix of the two or something else entirely, please explain below.
 
Personally, I am okay with them being tagged no matter the size, it doesn’t bother me when it comes to searching or filtering.
 
Also, I can see these being tagged with species as making sense.  
 
These I can forgive as ‘not important enough’ to not tag species.  

I wanted to bring up a discussion of these two tags due to how many sites have different opinion on it, as well as the impact it will have on other tags.
 
For some sites, Hypnosis and Mind Control are the same tag.
 
E621 has hypnosis as a sub tag of Mind Control.
 
Meanwhile Derpibooru has hypnosis as “Hypnosis is influencing/suggestion, but with the person under it still ultimately in control.” While Mind Control is “Mind control is what it says on the tin; meat-puppet.” They keep the two tag separate, no image can contain both tags at once.
 
So far, the two tags has been used on this site have been separated, following Derpibooru’s style. That is fine if that is how you want them to be tagged. But you have different meanings for other tags, so maybe you’d want something different for these too? And then there are other similar theme tags to consider:
 
“Love magic”/Charm spell/Love potion/Cupid’s Arrow: A group of tags that sometimes get put together with Hypnosis/Mind Control dealing with causing a person fall in love/lust with a person or object. More a emotional manipulation that altering minds, but I see why the two tags are shared as well as having their own tag. Sometimes shares with “aphrodisiac” tag for when its more about making a person horny over falling in love.
 
“Corruption”: A tag commonly dealing with altering a characters personality, typically in a dark or more sexual way. “Brainwashing”/“Reprogramming” tag seems to also serve the same purpose, splitting the two tags by if magic was used (for Corruption) or other. Sometimes shared with transformation to show they have a new body to go with their new personality. “Bimbofication” is a similar tag as well, but focused on a specific transformation. That of a “Airheaded” hypersexualized female who is perfectly happy to be used and degraded.
 
“Possession”/“Body Swap”: A tag commonly used with images of someone taking direct control over someones mind. Sometimes by swapping who is in what body. Sometimes by ghostly/magical forces. It typically stands out compared to other Mind Control tags, because of the person controlling their mind are inside the persons body.
 
All these tags would be effected based on how the tags Hypnosis and Mind Control are defined. Are they sub tags? Are they their own tags? Are they allowed to overlap with other tags?
 
 
One Suggestion is to have a super tag for mind/emotion manipulation and have sub tags defining the action being taken in the image for better clarification/tagging.
 
For example:
 
-A tag for having Character A be convinced to do an action by character/object B. This can be following them, taking off their clothes, having sex, or just remain there in a daze as if nothing is wrong.
 
-A tag for having Character A be directly controlled by character B. This can be by Possession, mind swap, or with a device that directly controls the body of Character A like a living puppet.
 
-A tag for having Character A fall in love/lust with someone thanks to some supernatural source (magic/science). This would be for an image showing a character acting/talking like themselves, taking their own actions than being forced/“Suggested” to do an action, but are clearly being manipulated by outside force. May have a sub tag (or make it a seprate tag) for making someone extra horny rather than falling in love.
 
-A tag for having Character A personality changed by character/object B. This can be something temperary, such as hypnotizing someone to make them think they are another animal (Common themes include pet dog, or a cow that needs to be milk), or becoming a dark/sexualized version of themselves. May be common with the tag transformation, implying a new personality alongside the new body.
 

 
 
This is just a suggestion. Mostly I just wanted someone to be aware of these tags and how they will effect other tags that have already appeared (and many that will appear) on this site. Any thoughts?

You wake up, finding yourself floating within a pitch black void. You can’t see, hear, or even move. Then, you hear a low pulsing hum, from ‘above’… your senses are beginning to return: You’re laying down with your back on a cold metal table, and can feel cool air drafting gently over you. Then, you notice something else.
 
Breathing in, you smell something off about the air. It smells… heavy, and metallic… it smells like blood.
 
After about a minute or so, every feeling in your body returns completely. You can finally move.
 
Opening your eyes, the first thing noticed is that above you, aside from a beaming florescent light, is a large and circular closed hatch. From the hatch’s seams, long dried strings with a deep red color trail down, fluttering slightly with the room’s airflow…
 
Eventually turning your head away from the strange hatch, to one side then the other, you’re greeted by padded wall-tiles, and, surrounding you, a host of medical equipment built into oblong frames for rolling around. Looking down at yourself, you see that you’re wearing clean patient scrubs… You’ve only been awake for a few moments, yet everything so far seems so dreamlike.
 
It feels unnatural. It feels alien…
 
But you can’t just lie down forever. Besides, while looking down, you also see an open doorway to a passing hallway.

By now you’re probably aware that Twitter is absolutely horrendous for intentionally browsing for art or trying to find things, and an unimaginable pain in the ass if you want to comfortably upload things from more than a few posts ago.
 
Thankfully there are solutions; the one I have is as follows:
 
Get the Twitter Media Download extension/add-on for Chromium or Firefox
 
Head to the twitter page for whatever artist you like and click on the new Media button at the top
 

 

 
Fiddle with the options for post ranges and media types, and tick Dry Run (unless you want a local copy of all the media)
 

 
 
Then you wait a while and download a zip file with a CSV in it. Import that CSV into your sheet editor of choice (I recommend Gdocs). Now you have an easily manageable list of post URLs and image URLs you can search and scroll through without being subjected to Twitter’s abhorrent UX.
 
Of course, you probably want some previews of the images. To do that:
 

Decided to bring this thread here, it’s basically creating your own world of yours with the ideas you can conjure up.

Because this is my domain, I wanna keep this short and simple and straight to the point.
 
If you want to watch or filter any and all content with piss, use the tag urine.  
If you want to watch or filter ONLY sexual content with piss, use the tag watersports.
 
If you want to watch or filter any and all content with poop, use the tag poop.  
If you want to watch or filter ONLY sexual content with poop, use the tag scat.
 
Most (that exist so far here) activities that would be sexual or purposely fetishistic in nature should properly imply the latter for each so they are tags that logically would not need tagged unless you find a new way to piss or shit on someone. If you do find one, congrats, you get a cookie.
 
I wanted to clarify this now before the tags get too big to manage, as I often see instances of people using scat to refer to the whole thing or tagging atersports on a character just pissing which isn’t accurate. Both poop and urine can exist without it being scat or watersports but scat and watersports will always be poop and urine@ so it is better to watch or hide those tags as they contain everything those specific bodily functions have to offer.

We’re rolling out a slight restructure on Furbooru’s rating tags by phasing out the Semi-Grimdark rating.
 
Semi-Grimdark rating was legacy brought over Derpibooru, since the site was bound to the children’s show My Little Pony it was sensical to keep the safe rating as safe as possible. We do not have this need at Furbooru once our target audience is more mature.
 
For this reason it was decided that it would be beneficial to the site to simplify the ratings eliminating the redundancy created by the Semi-Grimdark tag.
 
What does that mean on practical terms? It means that cartoonish violence, minor exposure of blood, jokes and related will only require sexual rating. For example:

Imagery that only have subtle exposure of blood, violence and alike that used to be tagged Semi-Grimdark can now be simply tagged Safe since the image itself is fairly inoffensive.
 
Imagery that gets graphical enough in it’s violence however got bumped into Grimdark, for example:  

 
Dubious consent imagery will be dealt punctually on a case by case and everyone is welcome to visit Rating Tags General in case of doubts.
 
Imminent rape imagery such as >>20241 (explicit) can stay with only applicable sexual rating tag, however as we will see below actual rape and sexual coercion will warrant Grimdark
 
The specified criteria for Grimdark is as follow:
 
→Imminent death, like a gun pressed to the head or visible vore digestion.  
→Insanity with clear murderous intent and potential, characters covered in blood and alike.  
→Dying violently/painfully not in a comedic/cartoonish manner  
→Traumatic physical/sexual abuse, such as rape or straight out torture.  
→Sexual Coercion, unwanted sexual activity that happens when you are pressured, tricked, threatened, or forced in a nonphysical way.  
→Candy Gore.
 
And while we’re at it, it’s important to also reinforce the Grotesque criteria, rating tag that can function alone or in conjunction to Grimdark and/or Sexual Rating.
 
→Body horror  
→Gore  
→Extreme filth  
→Highly Detailed solid or semi-solid bodily waste, such as poop or vomit

The site administration has seen fit to ban human on feral porn with irl creatures where the image does not explicitly make the viewer aware that the feral in question is indeed sapient.
 

 

 

 
This would mean any IRL ferals, with natural color schemes who do not, in the image explicitly display sapience through expression or speech would be removed from the site. Because fidelity to realism isnt a requirement, this means that Disney eyes and other cartoony characteristics would not be proof, because those are by definition style choices.

I would like to submit that this itself is not really an enforceable distinction. How do you tell that a feral lion is sapient in most images?
 

 
If you guessed all but the last one, you’re right! It is based off of a regular feral lion by a non furry artist. The cartoony eyes are a style choice, the rest is just a neutral expresson. The other 3 are fursonas that have sapience.
 

 
 
Now…what happens if we discover that jackaolope actually are real and nonsapeint?  
Would we take the absurd route of NSFW art with >>24715 suddenly being banned, despite the day before being allowed all hunky dory?  
Or would we take the incosistent route of saying, “Well, they werent real animals before, and therefor our criteria isnt really ‘real life animals’ but just what we thought were real when we made that delcaration.”  
There’s no middle ground on that above.
 
Therefore, I think that this is entirely unenforceable, a can of worms, and somethign that should be rolled back.

Since people keep making them and they hurt no one to stick around, I’m gonna make a thread for all these to be listed so they can be properly categorized. As of first making this post, only one ship tag is fully set up, and it is the one I used as an example. Please look over it to understand how these work.
 
Ship tags on this site are formatted as follows:  

 
Ship names in most fandoms are the two characters names mashed together. (Yes, even with real people!) The only exception I have seen personally is Pokemon ship names, but those would still get the same treatment when it comes to suffixes and implications.
 
Crossover ships are also valid:  

 
This can be extended per as many crossovers as it gets. (bloody hell)
 
OC ships are valid as well:  

 
If the OC name normally has an owner suffix, it can be dropped in the ship name itself and can just be made clear by the implications.  
For Canon X OC it would be:  

 
All ship tags will imply the names of the characters involved, the series they came from (if applicable) the orientation of the ship in its canon form, and the canon genders of the characters involved. OCs will only imply a series if they are designed to fit a series’ style or are OCs of a species from a series. Examples would be a Lucario OC (Pokemon) or a pony OC designed to fit into the MLP world.
 
Do note that since this site covers a large number of fandoms, it can be very confusing to people who don’t know everything, so this is why suffixes are added to the ends of ship names. If you come accross a ship name missing a suffix, please don’t delete it, just add a version with the proper suffix and link both so they can be aliased together. This will likely be seen with a lot of MLP ship tags, and if they get aliased, they will always be proper.
 
While it is preferred to just mainly tag popular or well-known ships, if you want to create one, feel free. Please give all the info needed or your post will be skipped.

Furbooru images uploading event!
 
It doesn’t matter how technically advanced an imageboard is, or how great it is when it comes to tags or community when there are no images to see.
 
While other sites have implemented automated bot uploads and full imports, we have opted out of the practice as we see it as disruptive to the community. Our focus are the users, not artificially bloating the amount of images. It is our wish that all of the art on our site is seen and appreciated by you. Our tagging system has also been reworked so much that simply importing images from other sites would not be as feasible as it might seem at first glance.
 
 
We need more uploads, but how do we get them? This is where you come in!
 
We rely on you, fellow users of the site, the community behind it, to upload and share images for everyone to see. It’s the exchange between everyone exposing new and exciting artwork that can be appreciated not only by you, but also by others is what makes the experience worth it for everyone. However, we do understand that simply uploading images without any appreciation for your hard work may be a bit of a monotonous and boring task, which is the reason why in this event we’re introducing a unique and exclusive badge for all those who would have uploaded at least 300 images when the site reaches it’s 50.000 uploads milestone.
 
 
I’m an artist, is there anything in this for me?
 
Sure! If you are a verified artist (have your artist tag tied to your on-site account) you will receive a unique badge for being a part of our growing community if your artist tag has 75 or more uploads under it as of the moment the site achieves the 50,000 uploads mark.
 
 
What happens after?
 
As soon as the 50,000 milestone is reached, the event badges will be issued. At 75,000 uploads we will unlock the ability to receive the 1% badge. Any person who achieves 1% of uploads at any point in the site’s life (following the 75K milestone) will get it, no matter how many images are uploaded to the site at that point in time.
 
There are also additional badges for all those who upload 1000, 5000 and 20,000 images (exact numbers still up to debate among site staff) to the site at any point in site’s life, so uploading can be rewarding!

I understand why character tags in general do not imply species - as one character might be drawn as different species. However, in cases where there are multiple major enough species variations of one character to warrant their own tags, of the form “character (species)”, I think that these should imply the respective character species - so for example, “oc:gyro feather (gryphon)” should imply “peacock gryphon”.
