If this is supposed to be a furry site, then taxonomy is important. For starters, tags like “mammal”, “reptile”, “amphibian” have to be present here and preferably be implied by the individual species tags.
And the taxonomy doesn’t stop there of course, for example look at this image

Currently the tag
fox implies
vulpine. But there are other species that have name which includes the word “fox” but they are not in fact “vulpine” at all, because they are part of a different evolutionary branch of the
Caninae subfamily. On e621 foxes are just
canine . Therefore there should be no such tag as “vulpine”, just “fox” as a genus name, and under that we have all the different foxes that have the word “Vulpes” as their genus name.
There is no need to reinvent the wheel, e621 has all that taxonomy tagging rules already figured out, just check how it’s done there.
