I’ve been a wee bit of a furry ever since about late 2012, but I’ve been much moreso lately. However, I actually was fapping to yiff here and there ever since about 2008 when I was 14.
 
The thing is, I don’t know how many people actually get off to yiff or if I’m just a weirdo in the minority. Also, I don’t always do that, but, ya know, it’s kinda the main purpose for me I guess. I heard that most furries don’t and that it’s mostly a way for the artists and people who commission it to express themselves. I’ve done that too a couple times, but again, it’s mostly just fapping material for me.
 
So I was wondering- what is most people’s primary purpose for yiff?

…IF the last art of any kind I drew was in 2018, and the last time I put out more than a few sketches a year was 8 years ago, in 2012? I don’t think that makes me an artist anymore, I think that just makes me an old man holding on to glory from years past and trying to milk his old work for attention. It’s a difficult position to be in.

I realize we’re still early in this site’s life, but I think this place has potential to really explode. A good way to meet that ahead of time would be to expand the forums imo.
 
Instead of having every off topic discussion fall under general where things get lost, why not intro new sections for things like video games, anime, and movies? It would help the community grow and find topics relevant to us easier.

This is probably going to be a rather useful thread in the long run.

Not sure if this is asking too much or not but I’m confused as to why this option isn’t in the Display settings like it is in Derpibooru and Ponybooru. I’d like to keep things more to the left of my screen; centered just looks too weird for my tastes.

It was 1997. I had just gotten on the Internet a week or so ago, for the first time. I was searching for Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM art (yeah this dates me), and I found a site called the Squeaky Clean Furry Archive (SCFA). Literally nobody here will know what that is because nobody here is as old as I am. But that day when I found those first Sonic fan comics by artist John MacFarlane, it was then I knew I was a “furry.” In 1998 and ’99 I went to Anthrocon, then never went again.

Hi there! I wasn’t sure how to ask this, but I think my head is a little more clear now to properly clarify it. On Derpibooru, I have a final slot open for a commission pack I have open still. Thing is I want to get rid of it so I can rework my commissions into something more manageable and more worthwhile for the commissioner. I want to know if it’s possible and bring the commission slot to here, and if it’s even worthwhile to make an advertisement post for it since it’s the last one before an eventual rework.

This thread is intended to be a hangout spot for anyone onroleplay.  
purposes are:  
-meeting other players “behind the scenes”  
-settling possible thread disputes so they don’t clutter up the in character threads.  
-sounding boards for new thread ideas and possible features  
-general hangout for the roleplay crowd, anyone that has interest is welcome.

Hey you know what would be a cool feature to implement in our polls? Perhaps we could do ranked choice voting at some point. I believe in it, as long as the staff thinks it is programmatically feasible for them to implement.
 
It’s considered by myself and others to be a more desirable/equitable way of voting, and might even be yet another way we can avoid going the way of the Derpi.
 
Any politely dissenting opinions are also welcome with open arms, of course.

This is a hot-button issue apparently, so, let’s discuss them.
 
Scalie and Avian being the big two, and as far as I know, there are no others, and nothing for mammalian creatures, which could be Furry but no one agrees on that.
 
A related issue is how I previously made a statement that no Pokemon/Digimon/Neopets/Whatever fictional species should NOT imply IRL species (or scale or avian) and that being ignored on several tags.
 
So, let’s discuss. Do we want supertags for scaled and featured creatures? What about furred? Should they be implications? Should they only be implications for fictional species? (not mons) Should they just be tagged when taggers want to? Should we nuke them and just let things forge naturally? Are toucans the best kind of birds?
 
Do note that “well X and Y sites use them like THIS an THAT” are not valid arguments. They can be examples and are good to cite, but they are not argument enders. Just because e621 or Wikifur does a thing one way does not mean we need to.

I have a gallery of images I’ve commissioned over on derpi, and now that I’m moving here, I’d like to move that over as well. Does anyone happen to have a script that would make it easy to enter either a gallery id or a derpi image id and port the image over here? I’d rather not have to manually upload 100+ images if I don’t have to.

Notice: I realized that this tread is actually kinda pointless, since there is already others that fill it’s purpose since this isn’t fully an rp thread. Feel free to ignore this one. My mistake, friends. TwT
 
Hey y’all. Thought this site could use somewhere were people could have friendly group discussions to chat about rp ideas and suggestions on the SFW scale. The furry community has a reputation for being incredibly friendly and understanding… Let’s not tarnish that reputation, so remember to follow site rules here!
 
Keep things friendly, be nice to each other, don’t post NSFW, keep cursing to a PG-13 level, and most importantly… Just have fun! OwO

Furbooru mascot needs a name. They are deliberately ambiguous gender (we do have one specific official gender in mind, we just don’t want to attach it to the character). But there is a problem, this fox has no name and nobody can decide on it!
 
This is where you come in: you can vote in this poll to help us determine the best name for our mascot!
 
The voting will end 2 weeks from now, and the winning option will be officially considered the Furbooru mascot’s name.
 
The badges for helping us choose the name will be issued at the conclusion of voting, or shortly thereafter.

(It’s fine for multiple concurrent plotlines to be going on in different locations too. So for example, some players might be Eggman and his robots in his fortress, and maybe someone else is playing some animals in Green Hill Zone just doin’ their thing.)
 
(Universe is mostly based on the games, but feel free to adapt characters from the cartoons and comics if you like; Just try to “Sega-fy” them so they make sense within the context of the games universe.)
 
(Also, if someone claims an official character and they go - say - two weeks without posting, that slot will open up to be claimed by someone else.)
 

 
Up within his mountaintop fortress, beneath a golden statue bearing his grinning mustachioed likeness, the nefarious Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik was working hard on his latest creation.
 
“Whew!” the doctor wiped his brow, setting his torque wrench aside and gesturing for a Motobug to approach. The Badnik wheeled over a snack cart bearing a tall glass of water and a plate of hard-boiled eggs. The doctor grinned and took a sip, “Ahh! All this building sure works up an appetite! Hoho, I’ve got to eat up to keep my big bad brain energized!”
 
He turned back to the machine he was laboring away on; It appeared to be a human-sized mechanical suit of some kind. On it were seven conspicuous power slots - each just the right size for the Chaos Emeralds.
 
“Heh heh…” Eggman chuckled, “That heinous hedgehog has thwarted my schemes by using those wretched rocks to power himself up one too many times! But with this… this… Hohoho, I’ll be the one to go super, and then I’ll ruin his day! Oh, I’m so brilliant it almost hurts!”
 
He took a blowtorch to the stainless steel hull of the suit, and then, stepping back, paused to admire his work.
 
“Mwa ha ha ha! It’s done!” Eggman grinned, looking over the super suit, “Now… I just have to go find the Emeralds to power this baby up!”
 
The doctor turned dramatically, and began to stride toward his Eggmobile, storing the power armor in the back, “To South Island! I’ll search for those mysterious portals to the special zone, and then - once I find them all - I’ll be as powerful as Super Sonic himself! Oooh hoo hoo hoo!”
 
The sinister scientist took off, heading to Sonic’s old stomping grounds to begin his latest scheme.
