(NSFW) The Purpose of Yiff?

I’ve been a wee bit of a furry ever since about late 2012, but I’ve been much moreso lately. However, I actually was fapping to yiff here and there ever since about 2008 when I was 14.
 
The thing is, I don’t know how many people actually get off to yiff or if I’m just a weirdo in the minority. Also, I don’t always do that, but, ya know, it’s kinda the main purpose for me I guess. I heard that most furries don’t and that it’s mostly a way for the artists and people who commission it to express themselves. I’ve done that too a couple times, but again, it’s mostly just fapping material for me.
 
So I was wondering- what is most people’s primary purpose for yiff?

Sexual art featuring furry characters (yiff) for me is an escape, a sexual fantasy that I cannot have in real life: Engaging in intimate contact with a creature that is not fully human, that has a little bit of the beast still in them. There’s something very alluring about the unpredictability of animals that I find deeply attractive, with of course human intelligence added on. The physical differences in body and genital structure, the fur, the feathers, the scales. Different textures, different smells. It stimulates my erotic thought processes just thinking about it.
