She’ll gently take ahold of it with her warm, furred hand, and then she’ll lead on to some crew quarters that don’t look like they’ve been moved-in to.

“You haven’t broken your own place in yet?… eh, I don’t judge. The one recent time I personally had a room and used it was back aboard the Eriksson. Looked like an extended roomba storage-closet, and I practically was using it in a similar way… ‘cept, I could also use the walls as extra floorspace, what with messing with the gravity well. So, I suppose, a roomba’s closet, combined with a surreal painting…”
 
Looks more closely around the place, liking the vista seen from the window, then sits beside Riggs on a couch, seeming a bit uneasy, though giving her all of his by-now somewhat calmer attention.

“I just don’t spend much time in here. So far it’s been for clothing, bathing, and sleeping if I really must.” She slides up against him, wiggling a little to get comfy. “And now it’s for cuddling, too,” she says warmly.
 
The quarters are fine-enough. Carpet for most of the place, though tile where it matters- like in the unused wannabe kitchen.
 
(Yeah nah I didn’t consider what the place would look like- I know as much about it as she does.  
I’ll thonk about it, maybe, but ideas are welcome because I’m 2 smol brain to interior design, and I live in a cave so fug ur chiggin strips)

Falling into his choked-up demeanor, he hugs Olive, sinking back into the couch along with her. After a while of quietly enjoying eachother’s embrace, while still laying together, he raises his head off her own, peering into her eyes;
 
“…have you noticed how active your tail’s been?” ^%>->%

“Have I what? No? Why do you ask?” She tilts her head just a little.

“I just, eh… think it’s enchanting, and adorable.” ^%.p.%

“Oh. Nah, it just kind of does its own thing, unless I feel the need to bother with it. Same with my ears…”  
She tosses away her hat and demonstrates by flopping them up and down*.

Ramesh’s faic;  
 
Leans his head past Olive’s shoulder, nuzzling her right ear, then hooks his snout and long necc* around to the back of her own neck, interlocking them together. After a big toothy yawn ended in a short, almost canine-like whine, he starts murmuring;
 
“…Since we’re leaving Borea, thinkin’ of leasing that mountainside lab I’ve got out northwest. Never much used it anyways besides more than a warehouse, though I’ll have to remember to clean that place out and scrap what I can’t bring… speakin’ of kroner influx, I’ll have to remeber to tell the boss about how nuts hypercorps back on earth are about natural timber, considering this planet’s so abundant with it. Maybe some tree farms to her name along the equator…”
 
“Where ya think the boss’ll take the ship to next? I know it’s a cliché but, kinda hopin’ it’s somewhere that has alot more water, but not a completely panthalassic planet… somethin’ terrestrial-like, with large islands, maybe even one or two continents, but with big, big oceanses…”

“Hehehehe…big oceanses.” She gently nuzzles him, her hand somewhat rubbing his back as she gets comfy. “I don’t really know. This place was cold when we started- was hoping for something a bit more…temperate. Hoping we won’t run into a desert world.”

“I meeeaaan, deserts can get pretty cold at night too… not sure how that’d bode for a whole planet, though, and just imagine, like terrestrial ‘ergs’, already entire ‘seas’ of sand, but on another planet, in a larger, continental scale, and all the humming too from that sand shifting…’’
 
“Dunes continually move too, so, just think about what it’d take to set down a permanent place… it’d probably be easier to just settle on whichever big-enough mountains there are poking through all the miles-deep sand, if any… The boss even mentioned a colony that did in fact settle on a desert world… “Goldenrock” I think she called it, they get their stacks off just picking rocks all day… must be some really beautiful stone, worth putting on the galactic market…”
 
Ramesh seems to sound more and more sluggish as he rambles, though he keeps awake by rubbing Olive’s back in return.
 
“…If it were a planet with lots of big oceans, swimming through it all’d be pretty amazing… think, as crazy as deep sea life is back in earth’s oceans, who knows what alien sealife’d look like… though, someplace balmy, if, earthly-mild, and temperate’d be pretty nice too… maybe even tropical…’’ The shark falls quiet.
 
Checking, Riggs discovers Ramesh with his jaws wide-open, having fallen asleep, likely from hugging the warm doge…
 
%To their side on a coffee table, Riggs’s laptop very quietly chimes to a received email…%

She blinks and tries reaching it. Upon realizing the futility of it, she checks on her wrist computer.

The email links to an eXperience Playback being livestreamed at this very moment by Rameshvara.
 
…Is he dreaming already? And how did this email get sent? It’s up to her though whether to take a peak…

He seems to be vividly dreaming of a wide-open desert,
 
with a large ‘boiler plate’ ahead over a dune, but nothing else seen around, even as far as to the surrounding horizon…  

 
As the view seems to rapidly glide just above the sand, a HUD showing controls comes unto wrist-computer’s screen,
 
allowing her to see in “third-person” what’s really occurring…
 
 
 

 
Assuming from the playback’s starting perspective,
 
he must be dreaming of himself as a theriomorphic shark, “swimming” across the desert as if it were water,
 
with Riggs herself riding along standing on his back…
 
Back in Riggs’s suite, Ramesh stirs slightly in his sleep, from the wrist-computer’s audio of his own dream.

She cranks that sucker down(because fug, I had to as well lol 22 volume from mah vidja gaem)
 
As odd as the dream is, she’ll calmly watch it, enjoying the relaxing albeit odd nature of it. She’ll soon drift off to sleep as well.

The last thing she hears is some sort of classical music, played from a small radio dream-Riggs is holding…
 
Unconsciously, Rameshvara hugs deeply against Riggs with a serrated grin, then returns to his unmoving languor.

She does a doggey snooze while he does a shorggin’ snooze
 
Her tail quietly goes ^{%Fwump fwump fwump fwump%} on the couch.

(Not sure if or how I’d get my character to this, but; [ Atomic Rockets - Crew Candidates ] Allen Steele puts forth the interesting possibility that for a prolonged commercial mission, psychological problems can be avoided by ensuring that the entire crew is part of a **single group marriage.** Sounds extreme but in his science fiction novels he makes a good case for it.)

Slowly, Riggs stirs awake, quietly murmuring as her brain isn’t 110% awaek yet. As she opens her eyes, she’ll get a look at her surroundings.
