It was always easy to spot a notice board, as nearly every village, town, and city had a few! It was only a minute after stepping off the ship that Ash noticed one such board by a few harbor market stalls.

‘The Silver Dragon’ was the name of the Inn that Cassie came across. It seemed nice enough. It had wooden and stone walls, and wooden floors with cotton rugs. Prices were cheap enough as well… Both rooms and drinks were easily affordable.

Auria snaps back to reality and rushes over to the docks, eager to see the foreign ships and their passengers. Her family owns an inn nearby, so perhaps she could even invite some of them to buy a room there.

“There you are!” She’d said when Dana came back inside. “your father had an accident with some hay, and hurt his back. Nothing too serious, but could you head into the city real quick, Dana? We need to get a potion from that apothecary that donated medicine to the farms last year. You’re father is convinced he could mix something up to get him back on his feet by tomorrow, and he wants to get as much work done before winter comes.”

I decided to go look for one, as well as a place to get some R&R after.my long trip.

Ash hesitates to take in the sights and smell the chilly air. It didn’t smell like home but it would have to do. He trods into town, his eyes observant of the people while looking out for job postings and bulletin boards.

Dana gathered up the buckets of milk that were filled with, well… Uh.
 
Nevermind that, she puts them somewhere safe where they won’t freeze and headed back inside with her mother.

A few of the merchants gave Auria some compliments about her appearance, although they weren’t the ones with anything interesting to say. There was a slight buzz around the harbor folk, about how some foreigners had just debarked and entered the country!

Most people in Arcadia paid for things in Silver Coins. Cassie’s purse was fit to bursting, and it showed… So it might not be a bad idea to hire a bodyguard for now.

Auria had donned one of her favorite lightweight dresses before sunrise and slipped out of her family’s estate just as the first rays of sunlight broke the horizon. Now she was browsing the port side market, eagerly eavesdropping on any interesting conversations happening around her. The smell of salt air and freshly baked bread flooded her senses, and she was momentarily lost in thought starting out at the sea, the crowds pushing around her.

“Oi, Cassie? Be careful here… And good luck.” One of the sailors she’d befriended during the journey said to her.

Cassie exits the vessel and walks out onto the docks. She takes a look around the port city. Evance sure was a beautiful place in Arcadia.

Dana stared out in the fields, yawning.
 
(Lel, I actually yawned when I wrote that.)

Evance is the name of one of Arcadia’s port cities. It is one of the main ports used to large scale trade with the mainland continent kingdoms and nation’s. The city was vibrant with a liberal and life loving lifestyle and culture. While sailors unloaded cargo from incoming vessels, children were often seen surrounding artists as they paint colorful pastel images on the sides of stone walls and warehouses. The docks were surprisingly live with culture and spirit. This was the site that first greeted anyone who came to Arcadia via sea. It was a pleasurable first impression. The roads into the city were paved with cobblestone, oil lamps stood idle on every street, and both merchants and townspeople could be seen walking around and going about their business.

Cassie Braton was introduced to the sight of Evance the second she exited her vessel. As a runaway noble, she’d taken a small fortune with her when she’d left her family. It was easy to convince the sailors to take her along, to start anew.

Ash was in a similar position. Although, he’d gotten transport on a dedicated transport vessel, rather than slipping aboard a cargo vessel. Accomodations hadn’t been the best, but they were suitable for the short journey. One of the ships sailors, a feline, patted Ash on the shoulder as he walked past. “Welcome to Arcadia.” They said before walking off.

It was always this time of the morning when the ships came into the city’s port. Despite the lively culture of Evance, it was always an exciting moment when the ships pulled in. Any one of them could potentially house a hero or adventurer, with grand stories to tell! Of course, being from a noble family, Auria could also look forward to more weight in her coin purse. Trade and an open market made for ample profits.

Even with the Industrial and trade centric mentality of Evance, the city’s outskirts were dotted with hundreds of farms! The villages and trading posts that made up the agricultural land of Evance’s outskirts were just as alive as the rest of the city… Albiet with much less noise! Hard work was something to be proud of, although farm life often left Dana with many idle moments in the folder seasons such as this current one.

(I’m a little nervous tbh. Been the first time in a while for a lot of us here to pull off a thread and get people here.)

(Will probably have sailed with family/friends/acquaintances aboard a ship to get to Arcadia, or will otherwise be a foreigner coming in with others. These won’t come up much :/ but they might, I guess, if it should arise, due to one of Ash’s flaws. Maybe have him start with a contract(beast or otherwise), or just getting off one if you’re planning on players interacting early, yes-yes)

(Auria is part of a noble family, but she is borderline obsessed with ‘hero’ types and mercenaries. She wants to learn how to fight and sometimes sneaks out to get glimpses of the action)

(Dana’s just a simple sweet cow working on a farm with her mother. I’d say she’d already be apart of the kingdom.)

(If everyone can tell me what type of Origins or Starting Port they would prefer, we can begin. Also, I have work and I live in the EST Time zone, so there are some moments during the day when I will not be able to act as the GM)
