So, making custom SFW-only filters and using them is still forbidden?
That has never been forbidden.
If you switch away from the default filter and create a custom filter, then you are responsible for making sure you are legally permitted to view the content your custom filter shows in your jurisdiction.

Why would SFW filters be forbidden? Logically Furbooru wouldnโ€™t offer custom SFW filters if they were forbidden for some weird reason.
The warning is worded the way it is because, like most websites, Furbooru reaches an international audience. Laws are different from region to region, so what may be legal to view in one country may be outright illegal in another. That clause is basically staring that its up to the user to determine if the content they choose to view through a custom filter is legal for them to do so. I believe the default SFW filter just tries to be as universally viewable as possible.

My interpretation is that the default filter is intended to block out potentially illegal material (what is considered illegal to begin with naturally depends on the jurisdiction, however). Anything stricter than the default filter should be 100% alright. I interpret that warning as only applying to users who create custom filters which are less restrictive than the default.

By changing away from the default filters, you accept you are legally permitted to view this content in your jurisdiction. If in doubt, stick with the recommended default filters.

In this context, it is also very interesting to quote the following official statement from Furbooruโ€™s page on filters:
By default, content that is safe and suitable for all ages is all youโ€™ll see on the site, and how most of our users browse. [โ€ฆ] By changing away from the default filters, you accept you are legally permitted to view this content in your jurisdiction. If in doubt, stick with the recommended default filters.
Interpreting this literally, the default filter should only show โ€œcontent that is safe and suitable for all agesโ€.

I โ€ฆ reports? If you are reporting things, they will appear in the reports queue, not here.
I specifically wrote that there is โ€œno report mechanism for advertsโ€.
Thereโ€™s nothing moderation can do to help you with this.
Thank you for letting me know.
And they know about it. You donโ€™t have to keep reporting it.
I shanโ€™t repeat myself in that case, and sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings on my part. Seeing as it has been over a month, I genuinely thought that the issue might have been forgotten, not only because that sort of time frame struck me as unreasonable, but also due to me noticing new NSFW ads receiving staff approval.

I beg your pardon if I come across as nagging (as that is not my intention at all), but I fear that my reports are getting buried in this threadโ€”and I am only reporting in the forums to begin with due to there being no report mechanism for adverts. It has been over a month since I first brought this issue to attention, and so I must ask: is dealing with advertising above the clearance of moderators, i.e. something that requires the attention of the technical team or administrators?

I think itโ€™s the ads fault I got kicked off the Buffalo Wild Wings wifi even though I have a very strict safe filter.

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
