I’m disabled and therefore, unable to work a normal job. My disability is that I must take chemotherapy pills as close to every day as possible, being able to take breaks if I get sick or something. This leaves me immunocompromised. Sometimes, I have severe stomach cramping for around 20 hours. Sometimes, my legs cramp and I can barely walk. Sometimes, I sleep for around 20 hours. So you can see how working a normal job isn’t really possible for me.

What I do instead, is help people who are depressed and lonely. I do so mainly through Discord, but will use other platforms if I’m trying to help someone who prefers to be elsewhere. There’s also my mom - I help her by being someone she can talk to, really I’m the only person she has to talk to. I’m far from perfect and I’m no replacement for a therapist or anything, but I do my best :3

I also have an ambitious RPG I wanna make, work on which will resume once I’m doing better in terms of my own depression. I recently happened to meet a game dev and a few musicians in my search for communities so that I could feel less alone, so I guess my two jobs kinda came together, lol. So those are people who can potentially help once I reach a much further stage of development :3

There is? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it. Or maybe I have and just don’t remember. Very little distinction between those two conditions, I suppose.

Anyway… I don’t know that I have anything particularly interesting to offer about myself. I suspect I am probably a bit older than the average user here, for what that’s worth. I have two degrees, neither of which I really use for my job. Really when you get down to it, I’m a rather boring individual.

That sounds nice. I’ve been to Germany before, although it’s been a fair while since I was there.

My irl dad wants me to become an admin programmer so bad. However, I am not interested in web stuff. In my lab I do embedded systems and low level asm. 65c02 the newer version of the 6502

I’m a sysadmin who got the job that allows me to stay in Germany and not go back to the shithole country i happened to be born in. Will be a German citizen as soon as my stuff gets processed (takes years tho).

Will earn a driver’s license this year, maybe, and lease an EV. I’m 24 and had no need to drive ar all until now.

I know there is a “random facts about me,” thread but…. Why not a more detailed about me thread? Small chunks of current life or an event in your history that changed you.

I am currently a Janitor. I am seeking to become an apprintice in instrument and sound equipment repair.

Which has recently began to go uphill for me. Found a piano tuner who is married to an organ repair man. According to my local music shop he was known to work on synthesizer instruments.
