I mean … first, the content type of the yellow tag is ‘content-official’. Like, nintendo is official content created by “Nintendo Co., Ltd.; a Japanese multinational consumer electronics and video game company”. What company is the ‘official’ creator of content from the bible’? Or what is the commercial product that is like animal crossing that would have a title of ‘the bible’?

Same goes for talmud, or quran , or necronomicon?

Right now on this site, those tags indicate that the OBJECT is in the image, like in >>20322, or that it’s being quoted, like in >>93874.

How would there be an image that is ‘from’ a company commercializing that object with that name?

I can’t think of one.

If the problem is you want the bible to somehow get a special tag, I don’t know why we would do that, or what the special tag category would even be.

I would like The Bible to be a yellow franchise tag while Bible should remain a green object tag

I don’t know, a lot of the MLP-related tags are inconsistent because half of them are treated like all the other series tags here, and half of them keep their Derpi names and implications, even if they don’t fit this sites organization system.

I’d rather they be split, like the siren tag. Makes it more consistent.

generally speaking with stuff like this, I’d guesstimate that like 95% of art uploaded here tagged “changeling” is going to be the mlp style of changeling, so its easier to remove the mlp tag from those 5% of images than it is to add it to the other 95%, so they’d keep the implication

So I noticed the tag changeling has the implications to be treated as if it’s referring to the My Little Pony franchise, but this may have unintended side effects if someone intends to upload a picture of a European folklore or DnD 5e changeling. Is this something we should potentially remove the implications from? Furthermore, in it’s current configuration, the changeling tag implies equine, which implies the tag mammal, and changelings may not be mammals in all cases

I usually put “Alternate version”. If the edit is by another artist, add “edit” and “third-party edit”, along with “editor:___” if possible.

What’s the tag for an image that was originally safe but now has a porn edit?

Been noticing some abuse of the “dead source” tag, being added to images whose sources are very much not dead. The person doing it is anonymous, though one recent one was a registered user.

Standardizing the gendered species tags would be awesome – removing them instead would indeed make me sad.

Well, lioness has over 1.4K images, and the other tag only had like 25 and only one person was using it, so … it feels like one of those tags where people should tag the species and then add ‘female’ if the there is a female character in the image.

Plus, from the species tagging thread there was this discussion there was the whole “We are not doing gendered species names” thing.

Now, granted, I know this has come up more recently in the past, but I don’t see that it got resolved back then, either. But, it’s been a few years, and the site is more matured now so maybe we could get that fixed.

Would you like to create a new thread to propose doing something to standardize the gendered species tags? Like, we could make gendered species tags a real thing. Or we could figure out how or if to de-gender species tags.

I think things like ‘hen’ and ‘mare’ are good examples of when it works. So I can see wanting to also be able to search for ‘lioness’ or ‘sows (female raccoon)’.

Why? The reason I added the tag is the same reason tags like “mare”, “stallion”, “lioness”, etc. exist.
