Rule 5 seems fair, but it should be kept in mind that there’s people with a Dom/Sub fetish for supremacy material (female/male supremacy hypno, black supremacy). There’s people of color, and Jewish people who are turned on to latex nazi femdom/maledom. Racially insensitive words used in speech-bubbles or other text can be hot for some but might be confused for hate speech (the incitement of violence).
 
It’s an understandably tough situation to be in. Anyone who’s mad at websites these days snitch to MasterCard, and other payment processors to de-platform them for having offensive images. If it’s not nazis it’ll be guro/snuff, incest, or loli/shota/cub. MasterCard is pressuring Patreon to remove any questionable Hentai to avoid getting blacklisted and they’re just purging any artists drawing short-stack or any breast size under extra large. I’m sure “subscribestar.adult”:subscribestar.adult will get hit once it’s bigger.

Oh, the reason Nazis are coming up so much is twofold. The current state of the world, they are a problem, and the spectacular blow up of Derpibooru, folks are very concerned about it happening here.

Happy to hear that you will making some changes to include religious protections.
 
As for the flag of the CSA, didn’t have plans to use it in anything, I am not at all a fan of it, just curious if a standard existed for it inevitably coming up and possibly creating contention, and if there wasn’t a standard suggesting one might want to be thought in advance. Did not mean to imply you all were unreasonable.

We’re always open to suggestions and constructive criticism and we appreciate your feedback on the the rule #5. After being discussed the points brought to you we will have a light revision in order to address discrimination based on religion as well.
 
Now regarding the other points and the subject of Confederate Flag and related iconographies we will likely be permissive on cases of historically accurate imagery and other fair uses of it depending on context. We’re not unreasonable.

Regarding the deletion of that image, please have in mind we’re not trying to put up a crusade against nazism, we’re not “anti-nazi” in that specific sense, we simply want to provide a pleasant environment free of it.
 
Providing a place free of this discussion and drama that has been reaching really high tense, stressing and unpleasant levels to so many users is more our goal.
 
An image like the one uploaded and this subject as a whole will more than anything provoke wear and tear to the community and attract undesirable attention from other groups and cause more antagonizing and segregation specially on times like these and on a site so new like ours. That’s really not what we’re after.
 
I really appreciate your comprehension on the matter.

No it’s just a point I wanted to bring up. Basically I’m saying that for now, there seems to be a blanket rule for banning any Nazi depictions, regardless of whether or not they are positive or negative. This might cause some other problems that might not seem obvious. For instance, a punk OC might Be drawn with the anti-swatsika logo common amongst anarchist or generally leftist punks of the 80s, might not be allowed because it depicts a Nazi icon even if it’s obviously used in opposition to Nazism

Admittedly, I’m still moving in, and I wasn’t involved in the deletion of that image. And I’m sure one of the people who founded the site or someone who worked on that deletion will be able to give a better answer.
 
For me, personally, I think that with the site being still in its first month it would be great if we could just focus on growing the site and its community, without having to talk about subjects that are literally tearing other sites and communities apart.
 
But it just seems that some people really want to talk about nazis. Like, a lot. And it seems that just asking people to post their nazi content on sites that want nazi content isn’t working. So, I’m not sure what would work.
 
Is that image something that you really would like this site to host, and would like people to discuss here?
 
Or are you ok being able to just not have to deal with it here?

The image in question is very explicitly anti-Nazi. That’s why I brought it up

I honestly think the current rule is ‘perfect enough’, and we don’t need to talk any more about clearly defining how much nazi is too much nazi. Please don’t upload nazi stuff, ok? It really doesn’t have to be more perfect than it is.

If you want to discuss nazis or upload nazi themed images there’s a couple of sites that absolutely welcome that content and those discussions - for example the new mlpol booru. I’m guessing that image would be very welcome there.

I would argue that any non-negative depiction is promotional. Seems obvious to me. Doesn’t need clarification.

This was a large part of the “avoiding going the way of Derpi” thread, about not allowing Nazi nonsense on this site, and I think Rule 5 probably could be expanded for perfect clarity. I would suggest changing:
 
“Do not upload any content that contains hate speech or nazi propaganda. This includes content that promotes nazi ideals, and content that promotes hatred and/or discrimination against others based on race, gender, or sexuality.”
 
to
 
“Do not upload any content that contains hate speech or Nazi propaganda. This includes content that promotes Nazi ideals (this includes “neutral” depictions of Nazis, pornographic use of Nazis, and faux Nazi iconography), and content that promotes hatred and/or discrimination against others based on race, gender, religion, or sexuality.”
 
I added a religion clause because religion is a protected class in the US, and religion is often a proxy for race (particularly Judaism and/or Islam)
 
Also, just as a suggestion to have a stance ready when asked: What is the official stance on use of the Confederate Battle Flag, and other related iconography?
