Yeah basic was indeed an experience, but the last 4 years have been an absolute blast. I’ve made at least 2 dozen close friends. Stepped foot in 17 different countries and territories. Learned so many skills, and got a lot of free stuff.

wracking my brain tryin’ to remember the other anecdotes she told me, but I remember for sure my friend said at the start along with the bags, a drill instructor hopped in front of her and shouted, scaring the living daylights out of her, which lead her to panic and bolt across and trip into adjacent obstacle course full of tires. She’s a thin person, so the mental-picture of her with the bags slung all over her, then getting spooked and slowly trudging away like a wiry legged snail is amusing. I guess that was the “shark attack”, tho. :P
