Nearby sensor-nodes divulge a laundry-list of names for the cadavers back through the adjacent door they’d entered through, along with the recently killed organic mass within the water treatment pipe identified strangely as a “bed of moray eels”, leaving the group themselves as the only live signatures… mysteriously though, Cyra’s name is absent on the namelist of deceased.
 
Doubling back the way they came, her mummified corpse is nowhere to be found.

Soundlessly, the tunnel’s circuit-board appearance suddenly begins to warp and contort, the illuminant pipe on the side sinking into the rapidly shifting whorls and eddies… As the light dims, far down one way, what looks like fractal branches of darkness stretch across the tunnel surfaces, reaching toward the three.

The surreal spectacle reaching up almost seems to draw them all toward that end of the tunnel, though looking back, the large vault-door they’d entered in through is still nearby, holding firm like an island of lucidity among the warped surroundings.
 
As the fractalizing tentacles envelope around the three, they all feel themselves being lifted… when their feet lose contact with the floor, the vermicular shadows grasping around them flash in appearance; into loosely-grasping tendrils of flesh.

grimm was already ripping and tearing, her fire blasting out among the tendrils. She knew exactly what was happening, and could see past the illusions

The tendrils writhe in pain for a second, then continue carrying the three toward the crimson-lit end of the tunnel; the now-carbonized hide protecting wherever flesh has been burned like a fireproof-layer. As Grimm tears at them, more and more tentacles seize and constrict around her.
