Her ears fold back and her brow furrows- she quickly represses the shock and responds, “Don’t call me by that name. I didn’t come here to be stab-happy,” she states defensively. Her sense of wary awe is replaced by irritation and caution.

“I saw that too, else my mace would have talked long before i dignified you with even a single word.”

@Cerebrate  
She lets out a sigh, calming somewhat. “That’s nice, I guess. But I’d doubt you’d show yourself to me just so I can admire your shell and so you can tell me I’ve been anticipated. And that I arrived,” she awkwardly adds. “At least, not unless you really think I’m a good pick. What’s this about? Making your pick between letting me come here and offing me?”

“I’d be surprised were it not for current events, but I don’t suppose that earns me any brownie points. Speaking of current events…are you going to turn and face me? Your shell does look nice and all, and I think I have those runes memorized now, but your face is easier to read.” She shifts her weigh awkwardly, as she’s just told the oldest being in the world to look at her while they’re talking. Hmm.

the tortoise turned, the splash made by the walking stick/battleaxe/Mace telling the rat that she wanted anything but that thing impacting her.

“Huh. Hope it doesn’t work both ways- try to fight me with that thing and you’d probably drop it, if it did.” The rat studies Agniya’s front and especially the face. “Huh. I always thought you looked more…foreboding. Sometimes more peaceful,” she states with thought, but swishes her tail and begins anew, “if I can ask, what is the worm?”

“the other half of the wyld, the worm consumes death and brings life to the earth that the plants and animals once more feed on in turn. its bad reputation comes from the frequent misuse the power of death offers, as well as the attempts to shackle it.”

“Huh. If using it for or against death is misuse, what is its ‘proper use’?” She sits down on a log, looking up to the tortoise with sparkling interest.

“I guess that’d just finish what I’ve already started- I do shows in the evenings so I’m already at least halfway there. Unless it’d flip that. Eugh, morning people. But, ehm- can you elaborate?”

“the sunlight will pain you, and stepping into one of those damnable wyld henges may go so far as to end you, but the return can be immense, in harnessing the gift you master all that is the rot, your enemies will strenghten you, the banes obey your command and the king… he will kneel before you as you take his head.”

“The king- so you do know what I’m after. If I had this…would…would the dragon clan support me?” She flinches a little after her question, deciding it to be a dumb one.

“we would in fact, mainly because you as queen would let us consolidate power once you lift our exile.”

“Then I beg you- teach me, please.” She gets to her paws so she’s not sitting anymore.

she keeps looking and finally her stern face shows another emotion, she is smiling.
 
“good, step one, find someone with a dark heart and tear it out, specifically wormsinger Volodar, the illustruos leader of our clan… and the worst one in its long history.”

She nods, ears perked-up, “I’ll take care of that singing problem of his. Anything useful to know?”

“he is an utterly egocentric hedonist, if it weren’t for that damnable bell he slings around we would have ousted him long ago, anyone that doesn’t serve his every whim can keel over for all he cares, but his control over the banes makes removing him something we cannot do ourselves.”
