Debating if I should try running threads again over here, historically they’ve all kinda flopped and there doesn’t seem to be too many active here other than the few Derpi holdovers….but that doesn’t stop me from having my ideas.

Well if you must know, 2 of them are just lose settings I want to do something with, one being more star wars-ish and the other being more along the lines of Mad Max 2. I did have an Ace Combat crossover idea I had a proper storyline in mind for too.

Oh it’s this neat thing- I go somewhere for six months, get yelled at, forget what it’s like to be not-sore, get stronger, learn new things, and get paid.

Fun….but yeah if I can figure out what to do as far as storylines go I’ll post something, but right now 2/3 of my ideas lack any real direction.

I usually come to rely on a goal with an “arsenal-constellation” of loose ideas and events to convey people’s characters as close as possible toward that goal. If not reaching it, I try and fantasize about what other goals characters could end up reaching the ways they decide to take themselves.

I guess thats one way to do it, but I still need some sort of direction as the central focus of sorts, I’ve noticed over the years that threads/groups that don’t have that direction tend to die quick or get stale pretty fast. Thats why I stopped joining NSFW/SoL threads.

The big thing is to keep roleplaying things out, injecting talking NPCs, hints, witnessed events, or focuses in scenery when necessary to get characters moving, or even chat with participants in DM to find out about what they’d like to see in the RP. You never know what you might find in the process that might seem good enough to incorporate into the goal. :P
 
I also read tons of shiz all across the web, collect lots of images for illustration (I use EZgif, Giphy, & Imgur for gifs, as well as Ctrl+print-scan followed by Ctrl-V in MS Paint, followed by embedding the saved image in a private Discord Server to acquire a postable URL for the image. I also use that same server plus a few others as caches to store URLs in), watch lots of videos, and listen to alot of ambient/music I feel I can eventually use for adding or “strengthening flavor” to a scene.

I’ll have to remember that server idea. But again my problem isn’t keeping things moving, or settings/worldbuilding, its figuring out storylines and stuff that I struggle with.
