That’s all provided they won’t be traveling via mech, anyhow- I suppose it’d depend on the size.

The specified shuttlecraft chosen is large enough to host a contingent of mechsuits, alongside plenty of space for passengers and various cargo. As the bay doors close though, an old cargo-lifting mech folded up into a crouching position for transport can be seen rolled beneath and stowed unto the carrying racks of the shuttle’s underside. Where there should be manipulator arms at the mech’s front, there appears to instead be two cannon-like protrusions in their place…
 
As the shuttle rolls out the Eriksson’s hangar, Rameshvara is seen ensuring the two unmarked crates are clamped down. Noticing Riggs, he hunches forward and turns away, hiding unease by bringing up and overlooking the crates’ contents, unto a datapad he wouldn’t need to use.
 
Soon, the shuttle takes off into a hover, then careens forth up into the sky, now headed for the equator.

It’s a brown ratt in a mechanic jumper and newspaper boi hat, awkwardly standing amidst half a dozen of the little “kobold” synths. He’ll glance to the crate of fuel, but remain focused on Ramesh.  
“You’re the shark over our science teams? Crazy. I’ve just come to ask what I oughta do- I got passengers s’pposed to use those mech suits, but some don’t have licenses to pilot, and don’t have a neural link to substitute.  
“I reckon they’re just gonna haf’ta stay with this vessel but it’s your expedition so you’re sorta the final judge on that.”

“Well that’s not good… Only let the licensed pilots use them, and have their guns put on safety by default on startup as well. Last thing I need is relativistic beams nuking up the basecamp site, or this fuel exploding.”
 
“As soon as we land, I need the muscle-amplifiers to carefully offload this fuel and the other unmarked crate, along with any materiel security had brought with them, then arrange it all in a close ring, but with this special cargo placed in the middle. Once that’s done, the only people I want remaining on the ground are the qualified combat pilots inside their mechs, including that larger one hanging out back, and myself. Everyone else is to stay onboard the shuttle as it takes off to circle the region for a bit. Any other questions?”

“Yes. One member is mildly concerned she may not fit in her mech. In other news, how do I break it to Riggs she’ll be stuck on this vessel?”

I am going to send a radio message to the boss lady as soon as I can. BUt yes you are correct…. We most likely have been watched ever since we stepped foot on this planet

“…Ehm, tell the chief she’ll just have to certify herself as a pilot for the next time MTs are requested. It’s not too lengthy or difficult of a process, as far as I know. As for the other person, see if she can trade up with another suit that fits.”
 
The shuttle soon reaches the first of a whole chain of avalanches that’d been deliberately caused to impede the aliens’ travel northward. Passing over, the craft’s cameras study the region in detail for any signs they may still be there.

“It’s your expedition so I’ll let you do it. I hope we haven’t been watched.”

“Maybe so but I can’t tell if she’ll be angry she can’t be a part of it or glad she won’t have to use it. Honestly she should get over her thing against serious tech. I’m surprised she puts up with synths and serious augmentations as much as she does. Needs someone to change her mind, however that looks. Back to that other person- she’s larger than everyone else here. We’ll just haf’ta stretch how much the suits will accommodate. Unless you’d like to keep ‘er here to keep Riggs in check,” he jokes, waiting to see if Ramesh has any extra answers, as his kobold entourage hasn’t left him yet.

“I can’t demand the chief use a suit if she’s neither able nor willing, though I suppose I’ll ask her about her tic with synths once this expedition is done… Anyway, the MT-VT (Vertical Tank) hanging out back has a pretty spacious interior. If I let the robust lady operate that instead of one of the suits, how many licensed pilots exactly am I going to have on the ground when the time comes? In fact, where is she now?”

“It’d be fun if you did- she oughta change, though I’d question how receptive she’ll be if it’s coming from you. Never know, you might be the one to change her mind. The big lady’s over there- can’t miss her, she’s like seven or eight feet tall. Your pilots will number…ohhh, I forget the right count…at least a baker’s dozen- I assure ye, you’re covered there.”

“Nah, they don’t talk much if important things need said. I sorta know who you are already- you’re the top labrat of this trip. I’ve been one O’ those labrats if I had the time but now I’m a junkrat.” He smirks a bit and adjusts his cap. “I can’t say I know you well, though.”

{Between Matt, his timid crew, Riggs, and every other likely-also-pleasant person aboard, he begins to wonder with concern for a second whether or not this expedition is worth the risk it puts them all in… They are investigating the very threat responsible for wiping out the 1st Wave, after all. He’d expected that among these volunteers, he would’ve at least by now seen a few self-assured, gung-ho, if not elite-supremecistic ‘‘super cosmic-crusader-mercenary’’ types itching for a fight with the unknown.}}
 
“…I’ll talk to you later, Matt.” Heads briskly over to speak with that pilot he’ll be depending on to wield the biggest guns.

To he fair, he’s had his back turned, nose-deep in a data pad to avoid the woman he’d hit with questions of love.
 
Aye, she’s not small. Like Matthew said, she’s 7-8 feet tall. The familiar hybrid sits comfortably in an exoskeleton at the moment, though her hands are busy toying with the charging handle of her appropriately-sized MG. Her tags read “Ginger”.
 
(Hopefully won’t fug up the names this time)
