She blinks, staring at the spot he’d just stood at a minute ago. She takes a big drink from her flask and shakes her head, “I’m glad he understands because I couldn’t be more confused…” She ponders a bit, tho she’ll eventually get back on the ‘puter.
 
Hopefully there aren’t any technicians around to see him, although at least he’d get to talk or vent then. They’d 110% be giving him funny looks right now tho

“What…how is that in there? We’re the first people here from the colony,” the dragon hisses.

He continues to lay up there for a while, as if the radioisotope power-source had been swiped right out of his body.
 
After his emotional crash-course subsides, eventually pulling himself back together, he returns to the R&D department’s laboratory by now busily churning out spome-modules for all the synthetic colonists undergoing the switch to organic brains.
 
Finding a bit of free space in the lab’s expansive nanolathe, he uses it to order construction of a few particle beam bolters for the trip to the equator, then leaves it running to complete the order, retiring into his own ascetic, if not practically barebones office he never uses, due to always doing administrative tasks on the move.

Amy who ahd been conspicuously absent mainly due to business with the expanded housing and finally setting up offworld communications had just wanted to check in at security, but then settled for eavesdropping, until it had all crashed and burned.
 
“I sure know how to pick the dorks, but i never imagined one of them would actively try to shoot their own happiness in the leg… they had better figure this out before we have the secluded lab hermit all over again, that would deeply displease me.”

In an hour, the ship’s hangar has a small expedition group assembled together; notably, several prepared battlesuits integrated with the freshly made particle-bolters. Aside from various equipment for testing material composition of the alien drones on-site, Rameshvara and a few handpicked scientists of his own load two other unmarked crates unto the shuttlecraft they’ll be using…

I’ll…I’ll think about it.” On her monitor, she’ll put herself on the roster for that expedition- her final edit to the file, perhaps inspired by the gorgeous jackal. “Thank you for the heads up, Amy” she says sincerely, returning to the topic at hand. “I might already have my answer but I’ll think about it and let you know.”
