Dear DerpiFurbooru mods,

I have been considering upgrading to the furry fandom for some time now, but I am afraid of commitment.

What are the requirements for joining the furry fandom? I have heard people say that all you need to do to become a furry is to just declare yourself to be a furry, but is that really true? If so, what would stop someone from just coming in, saying “I’m a furry,” and then not actually doing anything furry-related?

If I join, is there a certain quota of furry-related content I must consume every month so that my ‘furry card’ doesn’t get revoked? Do I need to create a fursona? Is there an initiation ritual? What sorts of obligations do I take on if I join this fandom?
