Ah, I see. I’ll admit, my own tastes run more towards the elaborate and excruciatingly detailed (big Lord of the Rings fan and all that), but yours definitely sounds interesting. And there’s always something to be said for letting people come up with their own interpretations.
@Long-Furgotten
Kinda thinking of treating light as the only resource that matters or even exists. Kind of like Color is used in the Void.
To put it another way, light is a metaphor/general shorthand for the resources one needs to survive, both physical and mental.
It’s less of a carefully-thought-out elaborate world where all the pieces fit together, and more of a vague, dream-like myth world that’s vague in the details and open to interpretation. A more minimalist approach to worldbuilding. It can get a bit artsy, but hopefully not too much :p
Also potential for riffing on the good old Theft-of-Fire theme that exists in a lot of mythologies.
@Blissey1
Basically i was reading a book about the future of the universe and had an idea: wot if the degenerate era of the universe was a basis for a furry fantasy world?
I was wondering if the predicted far off future of our universe was the basis for that description. I’m pleasantly surprised to have been right in thinking so.
Regarding your fantasy world, have you considered adding resource scarcity to the mix too? Nothing helps add to the bleakness of the situation like setting it thousands and thousands of years after a far more advanced but long collapsed civilization consumed the planet to the point where all the valuable materials are already gone or used up in non recoverable ways.

I will try to answer this question of cosmological significance in the near future
