There is some freaky optical illusion going on with this piece. At a small thumbnail size, the vixen appears to look towards the (viewer’s) left, opposite to the real direction. I guess this is due to my brain defaulting to seeing the natural eye coloration of foxes (yellow eyes with black pupils), until viewing the image at a regular size reveals that it was inverted all along.
