After a week in a half of development, I was finally able to finish both the Ranger(unnamed) and his son(Ashe) from issues 45 and 46 from the Sonic IDW comics. The reason it took me so long was that after I read issue 45, that issue was the only reference of these guys I had to go off of. I had to wait until issue 46 was released before I could resume their development. While I waited for more data and references I got started with what was available. Both of them together took about the same amount of time making because Ashe only appeared in 3 panels so getting his character shape was difficult, and his father had a prominent design(especially his beard) that made it difficult to get right because it doesn’t have a consistent shape.

I knew in the next issue they would make another appearance All I could do was wait. Once issue 46 came out, I was able to get the remaining references I needed to finish them both. I made them because of two reasons, The first is because the Ranger has a STRIKINGLY similar design to another IDW Sonic character, so I made him as a test run for said character. The second is…well you can’t have a father without his son, plus I thought modeling him would be as simple as making Ben Muttski.
On a side note, I gave Ashe 3 toes because again I’m not a fan of the whole blob feet thing, to me it’s laziness.

TL;DR: Making these to was difficult because of lack of reference and had to wait for the next issue to be released.
