The greatest artist friend I had gave me this advice. If your doing art for show then your doing it all for the wrong reasons.
Today I become rather real in my art. Whether people like it or not is none of my concern. Though I admit…
I too get irritated with downvotes. Especially if they leave no constructive criticism. So I do understand the frustration. Improving on how you express emotion in art is important too. Getting reasonable constructive criticism can be difficult with downvotes.
