@NyantaStarhunt
I meeeeeean, when your character encountered the first hostile bug, I was thinkin’ of
this, and with the alien ruins,
this scene from AvP was summoning up into my head. (imagine if there were corrupted anthro synthbugs to fite)
In-context-wise, I’m reminded of the reasons given for each of the four presidents put on Mt. Rushmore, specifically, Tomas Jefferson being put because the sculptor felt he was responsible for the US’s growth, what with the louisiana purchase, n’such.
George Washington = Birth, Tomas Jefferson = Growth, Theodore Roosevelt = Development, Abraham Lincoln = Preservation
aaaaaaaaand now I’m thinkin’ of, loik… just imagine a rushmore-stylized carving made of the characters in that thread’s setting, or even wrought out of metal upon
the conning-tower exterior of the command-bridge on a newly-made anti piracy cruiser, a la MGS4.
Amy = Birth of colony, Nyanta = Growth of territory, Riggs = Guardianship of colony development, Sada = Preservation of the colonists
Jinx’s character discovered what’s been going on in the setting’s north, and now I feel like preparations toward quelling whatever’s brewing up there has ended up shaping alot of what’s been going on so far, so exploration is bound to give rise to story progression.
speaking of exploration, besides returning to the colony
possibly for censored reasons, your character could still go back to explore the alien ruins thingy, since it could be believed that place holds whatever could be creating the signal slowly corrupting the colony’s synths.
(no mechs, spider-tanks, or vehicles allowed, on account of the alien pyramid’s impenetrable walls and too-small passages. Only badasses capable of fighting on foot permitted entry.)
@EclecticInspiration
the secret I was going for was
basing it on this grisly stuff, but ending the scene without resorting to violence.
