the yig leads them through a dense forest until suddenly Amy sees a large open clearing with small rocky cave like homes and fires. Fires outlining a landing olateform

as the ship landed some were gathered around outside. Some with bows out and one with what looks like a light machine gun

Oh yes very much so. They not speak good basic but they are as smart as me.
 
They said you were right a randomize jump lead them here when the battle was ending. They have been here since then making it there new home. So they have been here about 12 years give or take.
 
They welcome you to their home and offer any help they can
