there were always ulterior motives, and shyanne, as high ranking as she was, was likely just meant to be a puppet

the question is, would she accept that? she was taught by the nightmother, normal rat nobles had no demands to make of her, only zosha was her equal, only the nightmother her superior… and for all she knew the latter was commanding things from her old age deathbed already.
