Your favorite species?

AND why. I’m predicting a lot of foxes. Not making a poll for it because there’s just so many out there, and some are original species.

Cats, thylacines, dolphins, fish, ponies, undead.

Avians and gryphons. Beaks are just very pretty, and feathers are just so soft.
 
Furries in general are fun though, I am not picky about it in particular

Unicorns, deer, dragons (so kirin are a dream come true), seals and dolphins.

Cats.
 
I love cats. My first pet was a cat. Rescued as a kitten. gore story warning||My dad got into his car one day and drove to the first turn then he heard the horrible screaming. A kitten was hiding from the rain inside the car under the front axle. About half it’s face got torn off and broke a paw when the car turned. He rushed it to the vets and had most of it’s face put back on. || My dad brought that kitten home and gave it to me to look after. We called her Axyl. She lived for a good 12 years. She was my best friend. Sat on my lap when watching TV or playing games and would sleep by my side in bed too. Whenever I got up to walk around she would climb up onto my shoulder like a parrot. she followed me everywhere I went. She even followed me to school a few times. She was smart enough to open doors and windows too. If the door had a lever handle she knew to jump on the handle to open the door. For windows she would dig her claws into the wall and climb her way up to any slightly open window and open it by kicking it wide enough to fit through.  
She also gave multiple generations of cats to the family. But that was sadly brought to an end when a fox attacked at night about 4 years ago.  
I would likely not care so much for animals if it was not for her in my life.
 
As a species I feel I can relate to them. They are quiet and patient. Always observing things from afar. Like to be left alone.
 
Also the Ratchet & Clank games were really cool to me.

Foxes are the best of course. Why? Well, it should be obvious for anyone :P

I guess I should answer my own question, huh? Well, big surprise, I love wolves and foxes. Because foxes are doggies and wolves are also doggies and I love doggies. Because doggies are loyal and loving but also can be tough and wild when they want to be. Apex predators get a lot of love from me in general, because I respect that kind of dominance. The world is ruled by the strong, not the weak.
 
Oh yeah I guess you could throw horses in there too since I DO like MLP. Real life horses are more trouble than they’re worth and very expensive to take care of, but I still like ’em.

While a lot of what I like isn’t all that dependent on the species of animal featured as much as whether the style and theme and usage appeals to me, I have to admit I do have a bit of a bias for wolves. They’re just fascinating animals. Not to mention the fact that they are interwoven into millennia of human history and mythology.

IRL? Mostly geese and ducks I suppose. I liked ducks ever since I was a kid.
 
As a furry into furry art and characters? Idk, probably foxes and ponies and dragons and uhhh, idk. Just anything really. Hard to play favorites.

Not really sure why I like them more than others. I guess it’s about the way their limbs with membrane wings give cover. Along with the fluff and other factors.
 
Deer are nice, too. Most other species, too.

Dragons or bat ponies. Maybe cheetahs as well, but I really only look at the ones Nuzzo draws.

I love anything MLP, but I think I love peryton, half bird, half deer.

Wolves and canines in general. I always liked learning about and reading stories involving them, as a kid.
 
Got to give credit to ponies though, MLP:FiM got me into drawing.

Anthropomorphic planes/plane ponies.

Reptiles and sharks, especially nagas. I just have a thing for scaly and wet girls I guess. There’s also my dullahan attraction, but those are undead and not quite furry.

I’m going to say some kind of fish because the ocean would be cool to explore or mice/rat because the world would be so much bigger.
