as of right now writing this comment, i am balls deep inside prog metal and stoner metal (Dream Theater, Kyuss, The Sleep, Tool, Stoned Jesus, All them witches) and some other mixed stuff like Type o negative, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Alice in Chains, etc.

Ever listen to Transatlantic? Transatlantic is progressive rock, but they’re not really metal. Though if you like Dream Theater Mike Portnoy is in Transatlantic.

I’m really into one hit wonders. The idea of an artist becoming popular for one song and them disappearing intrigues me so much

Ever watch Todd In the Shadows? He has a series called One Hit Wonderland that’s about exactly that. Most recently he did an episode on “I Melt With You” by Modern English, even though they’re technically a no-hit wonder.

the only one hit wonder i really like has to be Hocus Pocus by Focus (you heard me right, that’s how its called).
 
and hell its one hell of a unique song, especially for its time

I love ToddInTheShadows, he’s my favorite music critic ever. His One Hit Wonderland and TrainWreckords series are my two favorites of his channel and I wish I could support him on Patreon if I could. I’ve seen that episode and I liked his review and the song itself.

still absolutely obsessed with this album. i’ve never enjoyed a remix album in it’s entirety until this one.  
they got fall out boy and that still blows my mind? also it’s their first album to hit the top 200 which is neat
 
i’ve been following this group since their first ep, i really think they’re gonna help push music in a certain direction in this upcoming decade. we’re already kind of seeing it with artists like gupi, fraxiom, alice gas, and dorian electra, and dylan brady producing for some big names like charli xcx and rico nasty
 
100 gecs - 1000 gecs and the tree of clues

I’m checking out the hit songs from 1969 and wow are there a bunch of songs that people forgot from weird novelties to sunshine pop to soul. I love how one of those forgotten hits was a spoken word/mashup song about the moon landing.

The Piper At the Gates of Dawn and A Saucerful of Secrets are the only Pink Floyd albums with Syd Barrett. Piper is also the only one without David Gilmour.

piper is the only album with syd’s influence in majority.  
2nd album he was included in but didn’t do as much as in 1st. More was without him completely

Anyone else excited for the next Transatlantic album?

The lost hits albums from the 50’s to the 90’s are trips and I loved exploring through them.

Speaking of trip, this song is probably the best trip made in last year or so
