i too think that would be best still, that kinda looks like facebook and since face is such a huge page, this short FB is not distinctive enough  
or at least i think  
even when i’m becoming well aquainted with this furbooru, FB makes me think of facebook first even if i’m not using it  
1: “where did you find this picture?”  
2: “on FB” (or just fb)
 
so yea, i think it would be best to use or endorse using furB or furby (and people are lazy, so i expect the B not to be capitalise, so furby it is)  
depribooru has nice common short “derpi/derpy” and it works very well  
it is a small thing tho (?) and it’ll get resoulted over time on it’s own as more people join

I never used Facebook and such social media platforms are in general things I tend to avoid. Not like FA and DB haven’t more prominent meanings such as Football Association and Database. I wouldn’t mind Furbooru becoming the next FB, afaik furries are mainly on Furaffinity, Amino and Telegram anyways. :p
 
Also it was always convenient to me with the 2-char system. DB, DA, FA, e6… and then there would be FB. Inside the furry fandom I don’t see why FB shouldn’t become prominent for Furbooru. People are lazy, I have the impression that especially US Americans - the highest percentage of users probably comes from there anyways - are experts into abbreviating stuff into oblivion and thus even FurB becoming FB over several years all by itself.
 
Ad your example: Facebook is a terrible source for pictures and I don’t see many pictures on several sites that have facebook as source.
 
After your argumentation I am surprised you go for Furby, which is also already a well known thing. Currently owned by Hasbro and there will be a chance of them reacting to that if this site becomes big, just like what happened to non-profit MLP-esque games that got huge while Facebook doesn’t own the abbreviation “fb” or something.
 
To me the Derpibooru short is db. And yes, such abbreviations will probably be altered by the community anyways. I personally advocate the unpopular opiinion of calling it fb, I won’t hold grudges if it won’t, but I highly recommend to NOT call it furby.
