Guild Wars Lore : The Defeat of the Lich
Part of Wooden Potatoes’ ([link]) Guild Wars Lore summary videos ([link]).
Okay, bear with me…
This depicts both killing the undead Prince Rurik, not bothering to pick up Sohothin, his sword, and the death of the Lich on the bloodstone at Abaddon’s Mouth and the Scepter of Orr vanishing on its own and the Door of Komalie (WHO IS KOMALIE) closing. This is probably the only image I drew for the series that just looks how I normally draw.
“Sohothin” was originally just a generic Fiery Dragon Sword, a weapon type that new players liked to get because it was “totally awesome.” It was pretty common, honestly. For Guild Wars 2, they retconned Rurik’s sword to be some sort of super special artifact. (It wasn’t.) Of course, you, the player character, ignore both it and the Scepter of Orr because, honestly, considering what you’ve done up till this point, you must be pretty stupid anyway. And then somehow a Charr got this sword. How, who knows. Considering Abaddon’s Mouth exploded and all, it’s doubtful anyone found Rurik or his sword. It was probably covered in tons of liquid hot magma. But, you know… writing.
