been working on a family tree of harpy species, stemming mostly from a dream i had about a strange individual (who will be posted later once i gather the sketches/scribbles into one picture or actually make a complete drawing of him)

their wings are strange in that they most resemble a pterosaur’s, but are often mistaken for a bird’s due to the way they’re used (folding up against the chest, preening and washing, hands also being much more dinosaur-like)

it is difficult to examine their anatomy up close however, as many species are known to be high strung and aggressive

harpies are mainly nocturnal, and all currently known species are vampiric

also their faces don’t really change ever
