At night the spa-goers retire to their beds (or someone else’s) and try to find new, exciting ways to make the floorboards squeak. Instead, the trainer and his Typhlosion decide to unwind instead.

The trainer wanted to lie, to say he didn’t enjoy the dozen rounds of Pokemon rutting into him. He’d do it just to wipe the smug ‘I told you so’ smirk off Typhlosion’s face. But he can’t hide the dopey smile of satisfaction on his own. Ah well. His body aches –though not in a bad way– and the water is too relaxing not to forget your worries and drift away.

Though a part of the trainer wonders why he’s the only human around.

It was thanks to Typhlosion that the trainer learned about the spa in the first place, and from what he’s experienced, it’s a paradise for those who didn’t mind their partner’s species. And those types of people are surprisingly common. The trainer mused; if the world knew about the spa there’d be trainers everywhere, so much so there’d be a year-long waiting list for entrance. Yet, as he scoured the internet and questioned the region’s locals, it seemed like no one knew it existed.

He wonders what was stopping word of mouth from reaching other humans.

The trainer could tell a lot of the visiting pokemon were domesticated, from small articles of clothing and accessories they wore. So most pokemon knew about it.
And while some rooms looked like they were ripped straight out of a home improvements catalog, the stone infastructure was centuries old. Long enough for it to be strange that humans still knew nothing. And it’s not like the spa-goers were unwelcoming either. Most were actually ecstatic to have the trainer around.

And–whatever. Typhlosion was laying slack, practically in a zen-like state already. The smell of scented candles and smoked herbs filled the air, each breath soothing the trainer’s lungs. What mattered was right now, spending some quiet time with his favorite fire badger. Now was the time to lie back, relax, and let his thoughts drift away.

When the poll gets enough votes, Ill be taking a week or two to make an outline and hash out details (like this guys name), so there’s something I can follow instead of making stuff up as I go along and trying to keep it straight in my brain. Turns out that’s real hard.

But anyway, the winner(s) of the poll will probably have some agency in the plot, not sure how yet. They’re definitely gonna have some fun tines with the trainer too, but you probably already guessed that :)
