If you don’t like the Samus and Fox pairing, I respect your opinions and kindly ask that you not post here unless you behave maturely and don’t flame or bash the idea.
“I’d give anything to give me to you,
Can you forget the world that you thought you knew,
If you want me (if you want me)
Come and fine me.
Nothing’s stopping you so please release me.”
The image is themed after a portion in a fan fiction my boyfriend :iconpikminknight: and I are working on, and inspired by the aforementioned song. Shattered Armor is a Metroid/Starfox crossover about how Samus Aran finds herself serving the new dictator of the Lylat System, and finds herself working with Fox McCloud to bring down Krystal and her fanchara family known as “The Storms.”
Through it all, Samus and Fox find that their partnership is stronger than they’d ever imagined.
This scene itself comes from an excerpt near the end of the story, when Fox and Samus spend one more night together before they must fight their enemies.
My opinions on this piece of art:
Well, for being done in an hour or so, I’d say it’s impressive. The one thing I don’t like about it is how dark the lines are. This resulted from me drawing the image too small on the paper, so yeah…that’s my fault. I also sort of feel like I drew Fox too big.
Overall though, I think the drawing came out well, artwise. The textures and shading are nice, and I like the expressions in the picture.
This was done with pen and ink, on paper, then scanned into photoshop for coloring. Colors were added with the paint bucket tool, then different dodge and burn brushes were chosen to add texures and shading. The smudge tool was used for blending, and the Fiber filter was used to make the rain.
