Artwork by :iconitsbetsy:Commission. The artist has recently cleared her DA page and she said I could re-post them.Back in December of 2011, I commissioned Betsy Cole to do a series of artwork that would not be finished until the September of 2012. It shows animal characters from Disney Animated films about pets (so Bambi and Fox and the Hound were not included) as anthros dressed in outfits appropriate to the period each movie was set in. They were made in the order the films were released. I spent a lot of time finding model sheets for the characters and pictures of period fashion so that each drawing would look as authentic as possible. The second in the series is 101 Dalmatians. Another Disney classic in my opinion. Cruella de Vil is one the best Disney villains in animation. Also, I love how the art direction took advantage of the sketchy Xerox animation rather than be hindered by it.Anyway, the Dalmatians here are about to have a picnic. They are dressed in early 60s attire. Along with Pongo and Perdita and the 4 most prominent puppies of the film (Lucky, Patch, Penny, Rolly), I decided to put in Sgt. Tibbs as well. I mean, why not? That cat deserves it after all the trouble he went through to save those puppies.
