Before I got as interested into furries, I was enamored by people using video game sprites around the time. Sprite comics like Bob and George, Cuteness2 + Evilness3 = Kirby, Final Fantasy Sonic, and Planet Zebeth. As well as PsyGuy’s Fireball20xl, with That’s my Sonic and Items on High. And of course the Flash animations on Newgrounds.
Unfortunately I couldn’t afford Flash, which was very frustrating when you have ideas but you couldn’t execute them. Though this interest in animation sort of did gradually evolve to 3D animation with Blender.
That being said, I still got interested in sprite comics at least. Using a Tails Sprite from Sonic Advanced, I made an “edgy” (read: cringey) character named Kool Katz. I did make a few panels with Kool, though I never published them (mostly because I’m a very meager person, with nothing to say worth listening to. Not to mention I felt I don’t “deserve” to have my stuff on the internet for how crappy they were. In a way these feelings still stick with me). The comic is lost to time anyway, and probably for the best.
After the “fad” of sprite comics/animations passed (begrudgingly so, as I said, I felt I don’t “deserve” to have my crappy sprite comic on the internet. So there was no point having ideas I couldn’t share), I then found my interest in furries, and the art related so…and it’s been downhill since. :P
