Heavy Metal

At least a few people might recognize this outfit. She’s cosplaying as Taarna from Heavy Metal! I’ve always wanted to draw a sort of tribute to that but was in the past a bit put off by Taarna’s outfit design. Like, it’s not great, i like the idea of it more than the execution, i guess i’d say. …but i gave it a try and managed to make this interpretation pretty true to the one in the film i think.

Anyway, This came out pretty good i think. When i was expanding my canvass to the left (on the original the sword is cut off by the edge of the paper) i thought it looked kind of neat with the white space there so instead of copying the paper and grime texture over i worked it in to the piece.

Indra is definitely out of character as Taarna, but hey. She already has silver hair so i figured she’d fit xD Even if she’s a bit thicker and uh… really busty. Overflowing a bit D:
I swapped her missing eye to the other side for the sake of having an expressive eye in view at this angle rather than just her patch xD Ah, the things you can get away with in non-sequential art…
