Well, this is something we rarely ever see these days, and that’s a non-comic post by me!

In years past, I used to participate in Equestria Daily’s Newbie Artist Grounds. But ever since I created Moonbeam, I’ve sharpened my skills through my comics so much to the point where I don’t really feel it’s necessary to draw anything for them. This time, however, I decided I’d participate not only for fun but to also get in some good practice.

So the first prompt was to draw a pony standing. A simple enough task for a seasoned veteran like myself, but I wanted to make it funnier by having Moonbeam stand perfectly still while striking a pose for a portrait. This is also a concept I’ve long since been wanting to do for a comic, but I could never come up with anything satisfactory. Maybe someday in the future I’ll get to expand upon it.

Finally, I decided I would keep things a little bit simple by keeping most of the artwork in black and white, except where color is necessary.
