Reality Check walked through the dirt streets of this bizarre town, at the crack of dawn. Celestia’s sun was not up just yet, but it was getting there., and even though it was still pretty dark, there was so many ponies around him. They walked past him, and he was doing his best to avoid eye contact with as many ponies as possible. He was… so afraid. Almost everyone had these bat wings and large fangs and fluffy ears. He was so scared that some bat pony would look at him and know who exactly who he was. He was so scared to be caught… to be found out. He didn’t want to be found out and sent back to his home. Nothing good was back there. He left it for a reason, after all. All that rested was pain, fear and constant threats.
Upon walking the streets and houses, he figured that sooner or later he was going to need help. He had no home, no job, no food. He had no family here and he didn’t want to go back or try and contact them… his family wanted him dead too. Maybe he could find a job around here… maybe do some community service. Knock on doors, enter shops, ask for jobs-
WAS HE INSANE! He couldn’t talk to anyone! They might be able to tell who he is! They were out to get him! They were all out to get him… If he stepped foot near anyone with a camera, he was done for. He was dead meat. He had to find some other way to get by… Maybe he could work for a blind, deaf pony… with no brains… or sense of smell… Maybe a he could wash windows.
This was his chance to start over and find a new identity… Identity… He looked at the reflection of a puddle and sighed… He could never really change his identity no matter what he did… He was a-
BAM! …What… what just happened? He fell back and rubbed his forehead and paused…
“Fiddlesticks! I’m sorry!” A green unicorn was standing in front of him, offering him a hoof. “I wasn’t looking where I was going! And I was talking to myself and I didn’t mean to hurt you, Mister! I’m so clumsy…” She mumbled the last bit and pulled up Reality.
He blinked… They made eye contact for a moment before his eyes wandered. Her eyes were an ocean blue… so deep and mysterious- Wait what? Why did he think that? Hearing her voice though… it was like listening to a siren… And… Her mane was a bright pink with lavender and rose pink streaks and done up in a pretty little ponytail. He wondered if it was as soft as it looked- STOP BEING A CREEP!
He wanted to say something-ANYTHING! He wanted to say both ‘Im sorry’ and ‘Are you okay?’ but in the heat of the moment, he said “Are you sorry?!” Her pretty ocean eyes expanded and her ears folded over. Realizing what he said, he shook his front hooves and tried to apologize to her. “I-I didn’t mean-”
“Oh DuSang! I’m going to be late!” she said before running off without another word, carrying a red and gold scarf in her magic. It flew across his muzzle and in a flash, she was gone. Reality just stood there… suddenly alone.
What… what was that? Who was she and why… Why did he like her? He slapped himself. What was he thinking? He couldn’t… He couldn’t like a mare he just met! That’s what got him in trouble in the first place! And after what he just said to her, he was positive she didn’t want to talk to him ever again…
Maybe… maybe he should go follow her and try to apologize.
