Description

#10 of my best PonySeb and PonySeb 2.0 creations drawn digitally by other artists.

Ponyseb came to see what all the fuss was about this “Bathurst” place, so he visited the National Motor Racing Museum. While seeing the many cars, bike, memorabilia, trophies, photos etc, he came to the Peter Brock Memorial wing. There he saw some the most famous cars from the Australian motorsport industry.

From left to right;
The 1979 Hardie Ferodo 1000 winning Holden Torana A9X driven by Peter Brock and Jim Richards. They won by six laps, Peter setting the then lap record on the final lap.
The 1979 winning Holden Commodore VB of the Repco Round Australia Trial, again driven by Peter Brock.
The famous Holden “Big Banger” Commodore VK Peter shared with Larry Perkins to win the 1984 James Hardie 1000.
And offscreen is the car Peter Brock drove to his record 9th Bathurst 1000 victory in 1987, being the Holden Commodore VL with David Parsons.

Peter Brock was tragically killed in a tarmac rally outside Perth in 2006, and the current Bathurst 1000 winners trophy is named after him in his honour; the Peter Brock Trophy, first won by the man Peter took under his wing when he entered the now Supercars Series, Craig Lowndes.

After his tour, he understood the shear passion us Aussie race fans have for Brock and Bathurst.
