Technetium (pronounced tek-NEE-shee-um in case you wanted to know) is the main antagonist of the second part of the Atomic series: Atomic Vengeance. She’s one of the first elements in the series to be introduced as “radioactive,” or undead. While a normal element’s body is dispersed into atoms when they die, some of those atoms can be collected and fused together with others to create an entirely new element, thus resulting in a rather mutagenic and rather unstable rebirth. Technetium and many others including Promethium, Hassium and Darmstadtium are the result of that transformation and have been given mutant-like characteristics, hence their animal-based design.

Technetium is as cold, cunning and sadistic as ever, and won’t hesitate to carry out a mission, no matter how cruel it may be. She, just like the Synvasion Force, believes strongly in the idea of Evolution, and absolutely despises anyone who would deny such change. Which is why after the events in Atomic Protocol, she decides to take matters into her own hands and plans to punish Planet Minimus and all of its citizens for their disobedience once and for all.

Because Technetium has unstable isotopes, her body undergoes a process of decay, harshly limiting the time she has to live. However, she has an inhibitor in the form of a cigarette holder that can delay the process for quite a while. She doesn’t mind the fact that she’s close to dying; as long as she gets to fulfill her purpose and exact revenge against the enemies of the Synvasion Force, she’ll gladly welcome death with open arms.

Technetium is also skilled in various forms of martial arts, and her cigarette holder can grow and transform into a bo staff with a burning tip on one end. This could prove dangerous for Hydrogen if he ever gets hit by a weapon like that!
