Flaws: Rarely knows when to walk away from something, terrible flyer (spectacularly bad at landings), rarely plans more than one step ahead, develops tunnel vision when presented with a particularly irritating problem, often only learns through her mistakes, susceptible to hay fever, nervous when meeting new pegasi, sore spot when it comes to the subject of her and flight.
 
Likes: Tinkering with her creations, swimming/diving, snow, storms, facing practical problems, underwater salvage, new discoveries, balloons.
 
Dislikes: Crowded environments, unsolvable problems, leaving a task half complete, being repeatedly beaten at her own game, arrogance, inactivity, broken machinery, being constantly asked about her tail.

Bio: A rare exception among her kind, Crash Dive never felt an affinity for the skies above her. Born to a family of Earth Ponies on the Griffish Isles, on a small farm outside of Manechester, most of her focus was on the earth. Happier to deal with the day-to-day heavy-duty work, she considered herself to be an Earth Pony in all but the wings. Expectations of others, challenges by rivals, and her own lacklustre abilities when it came to flying, only served to cement this, and she came to feel most at home far from the skies. This was only further fuelled by her fascination with underwater life.
 
During a futile effort to finally gain some knowledge of flight, an accidental landing in a lake made Crash Dive plunge into its depths. Unearthing a hidden chest by sheer fortune, her cutie mark was activated in the shape of an anchor, revealing her talent. Misreading it at first as an indication that her only role in life was failing to fly, it was weeks before she came to understand its true meaning. Determination and her natural talent at the forge led Crash Dive to forge a diving helmet, and recovered the chest along with the treasure within.
 
Despite misfortune and errors dogging her steps, she came to gradually put her growing mechanical knowledge to greater use. Ever curious about what lurked in the depths, she eventually cobbled together an atmospheric diving suit, making herself a career out of exploring unknown waters and recovering items lost by others. Eventually making her way to Ponyville, her life has become tied to the vast Lake Saddle close by and a friendship with a few similar gearheads about the town.
 
Forming a partnership with the Earth Pony Pressure Cooker and the Seapony (or is it Merpony?) Depth Charge, Crash Dive has made a living excavating lost treasures, inventing new creations, and any job between the two.
