I know everyone’s been affected by the Covid-19 crisis these past few months. There’s already been a ton of advice given about how to keep yourself and others safe, help out with creating PPE, etc. My aunt who’s an essential worker (non-medical) brought up a recommendation which I haven’t heard discussed much - if you have a flexible schedule right now (due to work from home or whatever), you can help out by doing your shopping and errand in off-peak times. She found it really frustrating to do a full day of work and then have to stand in the grocery line after work for a long time when many other people could have done their shopping during the day. If you shop at off-peak times you’ll probably be safer since it’s less crowded and you can get it done faster, and you can also help out people who don’t have circumstances that allow them to shop at that time.
I know it’s been a very hard week for many people, given Covid-19 and the conflicts that are happening over race in the USA right now. This too shall pass, hopefully with some long-term structural improvements for the better. I hope all of you stay well and stay safe.
