Gantu’s an interesting case for his species. According to Wikipedia’s article on the film, his species is called “Shaelik”. However, there is no official source confirming that to be the name of his species and it’s not used by the fandom at large, although a few fanfics do use it. Still, if we must specify what “kind” of alien he is, then that’s what we should go with.
