Guild Wars Lore : Abaddon and the Gift of Magic

Abaddon gifting magic to humans. This is actually not the first human he gifted magic to, who was a desperate seafaring Canthan, I believe (one of the Margonites) who was being attacked by Forgotten.

Abaddon actually does not appear this way (supposedly) until he is corrupted. Got into a long discussion about this with Wooden after I drew it. I prefer him looking this way, though, and thought it’d be interesting if the gods could choose to appear however they’d like. Plus, if Abaddon lost his body after falling into Desolation, it can’t very well be corrupted, can it? Much less have concept art about it. One of the many shaky irregularities about Guild Wars lore, of which there are… many… many. Bottom line is, he looks more badass and metal this way.
