DESPAIR is known as the “eighth sin” and is rumored to be the driving force behind the more adverse effects of the traditional sins. Xe has a long list of crimes, but the names of the offenders are under the sins’, even if they’re not guilty. Not much is known about xem, but it is known that xe has no fixed form and tends to fluctuate between different humanoid forms. Xyr favorite, however, is that of a depressed emo person who vents a lot. However, one thing remains fixed: xyr snake bites are always in the same locations (and they represent the sins that xe manipulates). If you meet xem in real life, xe can come off as very sympathetic and can act as a shoulder to cry on. However, xyr true nature would arise in a matter of days…
What is known about Despair’s effects is that summoners would feel extreme pessimism, apathy, depression, and other low-energy emotions. This is different and more acute than chronic depression and other psychological conditions.
Despair’s emblem is an “X,” which takes on an ambiguous meaning. It can possibly symbolize xyr gender or something like an absence. Xe is rarely seen, but if idle, xe’s often seen sitting by xemself. Xe can switch forms depending on the situation and is very good at hiding xyr true emotions. You’ll often catch xem crying a lot, though.
