Tier 1 Commission for :iconchibirenamon: for his fanfic Rock the Carousel! For those of you who’s followed me for a looong while, you might remember I did a Rockstar!AU where Twilight was a huge rockstar (and yes of course it the main pairing was RariTwi. I still ship the hell outta that ship ;w; ). Well, Chibi ran with the idea and developed it into one hellofa story, and if you have the time I highly recommend you take a read! <:

It’s one of three art pieces depicting some of the biggest stars in the music business in the AU and their relationships with their mentors, and this one is of course showing off Luna and her student Vinyl Scratch. In contrast to Twilight and Celestia, who’s relationship is strained, Luna and Vinyl are livin’ it big! I’m not well versed in how they work since it hasn’t been detailed yet but if’n ya want more context, I do believe a read of the fic is in order ;3 Long story short, Vinyl Scratch is a conductor instead of a DJ, but I figured she’d still keep her super big and almost DJ-like energy despite her occupation, which would make her stand out amongst her peers. Luna is extremely proud of her student. uwu

As for the art itself, I ultimately went with a tilted perspective and a lower camera angle in comparison to the high angle I gave Celly and Twi, to better contrast the moods both are supposed to convey. Whereas Twi is made to look like she’s still in her mentor’s shadow, Vinyl Scratch is in the spotlight and owning the stage while Luna is simply standing back and letting her do her thing. owo

There’s one more piece in this trio of images, and the last one is Discord and Fluttershy. I’ve actually finished that one a little while ago, but I’ll post it sometime later this week! uwu
