The Shuvalla are a techno-organic species that live on a mainly desert planet. During the reign of their civilization, they genetically engineered themselves time and time again, while also morphing the world around them. After their civilization fell, they retained their bio-tech abilities, as did the wildlife of the planet. Walking energy reactors, birds that can fly without flapping wings, animals that can be “repaired”. All these creatures that were engineered for their use now wander the planet, and the Shuvalla are no different. Though they now mainly live in tribes, Old cities still do stand, being densely populated and more akin to the old culture. The Shuvalla retain their engineered abilities, such as extreme generational adaptation, the ability to interface with technology, and cross species breeding. If Shuvalla settle down in a new environment, their children will have mutations and adaptations that would allow them to survive much easier than their parents in the same conditions. This can also be achieved to a greater extent by breeding with the local population, mixing genes to create hybrids with the best survivability genetics. Though this also comes at the cost of mutation rates being very high under even the most stable conditions. It’s not uncommon for Shuvalla to be born with mutations that DON’T immediately help with survivablity, such as extreme color differences, body types, fur and facial structure, among other things.
