Little John and the Baron’s daughter
Some new characters for a new year! This is an illustration for a bit of furry fiction that I wrote long ago, inspired by Disney’s furry “Robin Hood” even though it’s a movie that I didn’t particularly like.
In my story (never finished, of course) a wolf Baron’s daughter, Lady Alyssa, is travelling by coach to Nottingham, ignorant of the fact that her father has hidden a large bribe for the Sheriff somewhere on the coach. Little John and some of the lads intercept the coach, kick the guards off, and drive the coach and Alyssa deep into the woods.
Learning that Alyssa knows nothing of the treasure or where it is hidden, Little John leaves the lads to search the coach while he takes the Baron’s daughter off to another clearing nearby. He makes the wolf girl strip naked, explaining that he’s not just doing it out of lust, but also to take her fine clothes back to the outlaws’ camp to help their wives, children and others keep warm through the approaching winter.
Alyssa reminds him that he promised not to harm her. Little John affirms his promise, but adds that what he and the lads intend to do can’t really be considered ‘harm’…, because Alyssa has already, to his knowledge, been naughty with a stable boy, a page and more than one squire! That stifles Alyssa’s protests, but she can’t help staring when Little John drops his breeches!
I suppose that the idea of Little John being a bear came from the Disney movie, but this bear obviously isn’t their silly tubby character and Lady Alyssa definitely belongs to me!
