The Birds are very hierarchical. They consider themselves superior to almost all land-crawlers, the only exception being ones that have projectile weapons; those are always respected.
If they feel like they aren’t being treated with sufficient respect, they adopt an intimidating stance in which they stand upright and spread their wings to the sides. This stance, sometimes called the Tau-Posture for its resemplance to the letter τ, will strike fear into the heart of anyone who witnesses it.
If this terrifying display isn’t sufficient to establish their dominance, they assert their place in the pecking order by pecking the defiant foe into submission.
