It’s morning in the Forest, and Maroochy is heading into town from her little cottage in the Forest proper. She’s on her way to the souk, the fine clothing boutique where she works as the resident tailor, and has stopped at a coffee shop. Well, “coffee shop” might be overselling things a little bit, since it’s actually the home of a pair of binturong guys with a roaster in their garage. They’re doing magical stuff in there, though, and Em always tries to stop by on the Thursday and Friday mornings when they open their garage door and set up a card table on the sidewalk to brew and vend their latest roasts.

The place where Maroochy works isn’t technically a souk, since it’s a single shop and not a bazaar, but the full name is a bit of a mouthful. “Flowing Gossamer - An Urbane Souk for Discerning Clientele.” Sal says it flows better in Arabic, and Em takes his word for it.
