I remember I first heard of this show in 2010 when The Hub Network started its debut, but to be honest, I didn’t like the artstyle of the show at first since to me, they didn’t look more “horse-like” unlike the previous generations of MLP (But later on, that changed). However, I got into FiM in mid-2013, around the same time when I was reminded of my obsession with this Disney movie called Meet The Robinsons. Seeing fan art of FiM was what made me be interested in DeviantArt (I didn’t join on the site until 2015, when I turned 13 that year). I even made fan art, OCs, and even stories inspired by the show, and I even made speedpaint videos of it. This show helped me get through some tough times, and there were some moments of my life where I didn’t want to live anymore and just end it, but luckily, this show, along with my family, friends, and other fandoms have saved me before it was too late. I still have a lot for myself to heal, but thankfully, my life would not be the same without this show, and my mental health wouldn’t improve if it weren’t for it. I’ll forever be a fan of this series, even if there are some things that I don’t like about the fandom (which I prefer not to talk about).
I would also like to thank all of my friends (both on here and IRL, MLP fan or not) who helped me become a better person and accepted me for who I am. I know I’m not “perfect,” and yes, I still make mistakes to this day, but at least I’m a much better person than I was before thanks to FiM.
Like many others, I will miss FiM since it ended last year, but I’m very excited for the future of MLP and what’s more of it.
I hope you enjoy, and more art will be coming soon!
Happy 10 Years of Friendship is Magic!
