With the end of Mermay upon us, I wanted to share a piece I’ve been working on little by little over a couple of weeks for it.

This sequence sees One Piece’s Nami, the Straw Hat navigator, indulging in her own accursed devil fruit. Learning that it’s some form of Fish-Fish Fruit, she hazards a bite with a specific vision of herself in mind, using it to take the form of a beautiful mermaid! I wonder if that would still allow her to swim, like, at all?…

…Instead, she’s shocked to find herself adopting a much less elegant new form. Though surely, with a bit of practice, she can figure the intricacies of this Zoan out, right?

Just a goofy idea I had a couple weeks back. Bonus points if you get what the end result is referencing!
